What Does an Energy Technician Do?

Working and studying to become an energy technician

An energy technology works with developing and implementing technical solutions for the production, distribution and use of energy. This can include everything from renewable energy production such as solar and wind powerto energy-efficient systems and smart grids. Energy technologies combine technology know-how with sustainability and innovation to contribute to a more sustainable and efficient use of energy

Study Energy Engineering

The energy technician education is usually a master's degree in engineering that lasts for five years. There are also shorter Bachelor of Science in Engineering programmes that take about three years.

Suitable universities specialising in energytechnology are, for example:

KTH Royal Institute of Technology
Chalmers University of Technology
Faculty of Engineering, Lund University
Linköping University
Umeå University
