This is Tekniksprånget

Together, we secure Sweden's future workforce

Tekniksprånget is an internship program where Sweden's employers, in collaboration with the government, invest in securing Sweden's future workforce by attracting more young people to pursue higher technical education. The project is led by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA.

Through a four-month paid internship, young individuals all over Sweden get the opportunity to experience the engineering profession in practice. The aim is to inspire them to pursue higher technical education and provide a clearer vision of what awaits them after their studies. More than 220 employers participate in the project, offering internships in over 100 locations throughout Sweden.

The internships are available in both the autumn and spring seasons. Applications for the autumn internship are open from April 16th to May 6th, and applications for the spring internship are accepted from October 16th to November 6th.

Since its inception in 2012, over 6,000 young individuals have participated in Tekniksprånget.

More than 220 employers participate in the project, offering internships in over 100 locations throughout Sweden, from Ystad in the south to Kiruna in the north.
Several studies indicate a significant shortage of engineers, as demonstrated by the Labor Market Barometer and the Swedish Public Employment Service.
